I've been into photography since 1971 when I purchased my first new camera, a Canon TL. Back then you had to pretty much do everything manually, which isn't all that bad. I learned a lot about exposures before the cameras took that off my hands and I could focus (pardon the pun) on composure. I've ben through more than a few camera bodies since then, but am currently loving my Canon 5D Mark II. I just sold my 100-400L series lens to my brother in law and purchased a new 300F4 L series to take its place. He'll use the 100-400 more than I ever did, and I think I'll find more places to use the fixed 300. Good deal for both of us if I'm right.
Welcome to the Forum Pete.
Welcome Pete. This is a wonderful site for learning and photography.

Hello Pete, welcome to the forum. 8-)
Thanks. You and I started around the same time, so I KNOW you've had the same experiences that I did with the older manual, then semi-automatic, and then automatic cameras. Digital is so much easier, but sometimes I miss developing film and printing with an enlarger......
I hope to learn a lot. Having years and years of experience doesn't necessarily make me any smarter. There's always something more to learn.

Hello Pete, welcome to UHH.
Greetings Pete, and welcome to the UHH!
Welcome to UHH Pete, glad you joined us. I hope you made your brother-in-law a "Brother in law" price on that lens. That will keep his sister happy. Have fun and enjoy the forum.

Welcome to the hog, Pete. Its good you have someone to buy your lens. Looking forward to seeing some of your work, and, why don't you bring your brother in law into the blog also.
