:P Yes, I do print most of my own pictures. I have a Cannon Pixma Pro9000. I have had it for over 5 years and I love it. I print 4X6, 5x7, 8x10, 11x14, and sometimes 16x20.

Rarely. Pretty much all the time I order through Costco.com. When you look at how much the ink costs and when you look at the good quality of pictures you get when ordering through them. It is worth it to just place your order through Costco.com

This week I printed and matted 9 photos which I sold last week. Much easier to sell from my website and have someone else do the printing and shipping.

I print, mainly for cards, like thank you cards, birthday cards, etc. and mainly in 4 by 6 or 4 by 7 formats - I find it very satisfying to do these small artistic projects myself and have total control - also, to drive to Costco or whoever just doesn't make sense for a small print.

Some shots I just like to see in print. Don't have any available wall-space more, so I have them in Albums or books. It's just me, I like pic's in print. (I think it is also fun to print them at home and seeing them coming out of the printer)!

Thanks.

I use Costco for all of my small stuff - much cheaper and easier than doing it myself. Larger prints (up to 16x20) I do myself on my Epson SP4880 which I dearly love and it produces beautiful prints.

about 10% done as 4x6 at Walgreens with coupon works out to .10 a print. Any thing bigger I give as gifts.

I shoot with a cheap Canon. It's cheap but I like it a lot.

I have a cheap Canon printer ($39.99) and I make

my own 4X6 prints and send the larger ones out to

Wal-Mart. The prints I do make blow my socks off they're

so good. (really).

G Brown,

This is not to argue with your process, it is to shed some light on the overall costs of printing your pictures.

After you have processed a picture for the first acceptable pass.
How many prints to you make until you get what you like?

Food for thought.
If you could calibrate your monitor to your printer, and have a print paper profile, if needed, and then make one, or two final prints, could you save printing costs in the long run?

Guess its down to numbers....If you print everything then making the process as cheap as possible makes sense - if like me you print your exceptional photos then print costs are really low (almost rare).. Presumably businesses will get a print done by trade and posted out direct to the customer thereby saving the max in time effort and print hassle/cost.

somehow got a hic-up on that one -what I was trying to say was...if you print almost everything then print cost is an issue, If like me, you print only your exceptional shots then print cost is minimal . A business will probably like to send photos out for printing and get them sent from there direct to the customer thereby minimizing all of the print costs and some of the postage too!

I print for my own pleasure so cost is of little importance and printing 'ability' speeds up my processing time.
