I stumbled upon this place downtown yesterday ... it's a private home ... simply amazing.

Great shots photogrl57! I would photoshop out the electrical wiring :-D I always thought your "examples" were just examples you found rather than your own examples so I have never commented on them. You have a great eye!

Good to hear your pup is on the mend as well as your back.
Easy to forgive puppie's misbehavior because they are so cute, especially Diablo!

A couple more from yesterday ... I always try to shoot for the next days challenge that way when midnight comes around I have the examples ready.
I have to wait another hour or so for the hubby to get up from his nap to go out today LOL. We don't like to leave the baby heathen unsupervised until he's a bit bigger.

Welcome to Day 51 :) Today we are going to concentrate on Details in Architecture. Looking for eye-catching details in architecture can be fun. Very often the architectural style of a building is revealed in its smallest details: Elaborate woodwork immediately betrays the Victorian period just as splashy neon and glass shapes scream Art Deco. One of the keys to capturing strong images of architectural detailing is tight composition. You must fill the frame with just your subject so there is no question about what you are photographing. Pay particular attention to lighting as well. Light coming from the side is ideal because it provides the interplay of shadow and highlight that you need to give your subjects three-dimensional form and surface texture.
The secret to getting good detail shots, though, is simply being aware: pausing long enough to notice all the tiny parts that make the whole. Cathedrals and palaces are probably the first subjects that come to mind when you're looking for details, but remember even a barn has intriguing shapes and patterns when they are dramatized by good lighting and observed by a scrutinizing eye.
Here are a few examples to get us started.

Better do's, eh? Sounds familiar..

Port Clyde, been there, think we might have hit a restaurant here too.

Nice shots.

I just love your first and second shot Roadrunner as well as your earlier posting. We have some buildings like the "half" building you photographed here is Seattle.

Thanx a lot, Marj... 'preciate your comments.

People in Québec City are jealous of Seattle because of the potential new hockey team and we only have $400 million to put on the new stadium...

However.......I don't give a rat's patootie about hockey, so you're still on my good list

Naval Architecture..The Portsmouth Lightship, in Portsmouth, VA.

I could write a pretty good story about these ships....but unless you worked in a shipyard you wouldn't understand and if you did, you don't give darn, so there.
