Iv recently read the reviews on this lense that's labeled with many brand names ie bower, samyang,Vitara etc but are made in the same factory.ppl seem to be raving about this and is now labeled as one of the best portrait lens.it gives fantastic boken and crop subjects so iv read anyway.the price is very appealing at $350 give or take.bad points no af but who cares if your like me and manual focus anyway.
As usual it's not a question of help but a info feed on ppl who own or used one.
I owned this lens for a time under the Rokinon name. I had no issues with the lens at all. Built like a tank and BIG! The front lens is enormous. Using my eyes and the focus indicator on my Nikon D300, I got great shots. Focus was smooth and well dampened. Nothing loose here. Due to financial circumstances at the time I had to sell it but I am still kicking myself for doing so. The 85mm 1.4 Samyang is definitely worth $350 in my opinion. I bought it used in mint condition with the box for $200. Make sure if you buy this lens it has the CPU chip for metering.
All the same lens, just different names and possibly pricing. Hope this helps. I was very happy with the Rokinon 85mm 1.4 and I believe you will be also. If you have the money the Nikon 85mm 1.4 is only $1600.
