If you're in Downeast Maine this Saturday, take a ride to Quoddy Head State Park. There will be tours of the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse tower. Lots of great photo ops in the park along the bold coast!

Do they have the renovation complete? I was so disappointed last week when I got there for the first time in 6 years and found it in total disarray, with yellow insulation and scaffolds hanging out everywhere, totally unphotographable. My only comfort was that hopefully they have secured this beautiful place better for others to enjoy later. It is the prettiest lighthouse in the country, in my opinion.

The re-siding and insulation is nearly complete and it will look much better than before renovations. We (West Quoddy Head Light Keepers Association) were very disappointed with the timing of the work, but had no say in the matter. So sorry you were here at a bad time. The original date for our open house was to be July 5th, but hurricane Arthur felt differently.
