I mashed the shutter and ended up with an OoF shot. This time I paused very briefly pushed forward a smidgen and fired. Worked out ok..wow!good shots but the last one is really something we all hope to have happen some day!

I've had instances where another insect entered a frame intent on eating my subject... Every time though, I mashed the shutter button hoping for the best, as you said, I got squat. Great series of images you posted here !!!
