KV, are you asking about Sigma Art line of lenses?
If so, which lens are you specifically asking about?
The art are regular lenses. They are Sigmas higher end pro line of lenses.
Can you be more specific? ;-)

What is an art lens? I thought art happened in front of (and behind) the lens.

Just a marketing ploy for their high end lenses. They are good lenses.

If you're taking about the Sigma line of Art lenses, these are higher end, higher quality lenses whose focus can be user customizer with an inexpensive ($59) camera to computer device called a USB dock. This is only available on their top three categories designated A (Art) C (Cotemporary) and a 3rd category which I forget.

The particular line of lenses you are asking about are within a designated "series" of lenses made for FF,crop sensor and mirrorless. More choices exist fro crop sensor cameras which makes sense since they comprise about 90% of DSLR sales. I think those figures were from 2013. They actually do exist. I do not own any, but assume they would be compared as an example, to the Canon L-series. I just looked at Sigma's website and they are offering some rebates on some designated models. The reviews on the 50/1.4 have been very positive. Do not know about the others.

you are correct. There is no such thing as an*art*
lens. It's just another gimmick to get your $.
