If you get bit in the face, or a customer pokes their eye out on your background stand, will your insurance company pay? The stores will not because you are an independent contractor.

Today I was approached by a store manage to take pet photos for Santa Paws, Easter, etc. I've been taking pet photos for sometime now as a volunteer. I have my camera, a speedlite, a tripod and wireless remote. Do I need any other equipment? Any tips, pointers, what lens, settings work best, etc. Help me decide if I should do this. Cannot affort more equipmnt.

.all you need is a reflective umbrella (very cheap)...if you get a 60"..you can set it back about 12-16' on a stand with your speedlight aimed in to it. lights up the area unbelievable and you won't get "pet eyes". backdrop can be made out of about anything.
here's my pups taken with the same setup. if you need anymore info on this setup, send me a pm
