There is a great line in the Movie Grumpy Old Men. Why don't you pull your lower lip over your head and swallow?

I did a very bad thing today. I left my camera at home. Well yes I hand my cell phone and it has a built in camera. And I was going to the same dog park that I have been using for the last 15 years. What could I see that would be dif today?

Well there was the clear blue sky and the white clouds floating by. And then there was the fellow who backed out without looking and came with in inches of “T boning me”.
Hey that would have made a nice shot.

So I will leave it up to you. If you want me to leave the group, I will understand.
I will miss you all so much.
I will have to re-join.
I will have to think of a new name and password.

Sorry, Will try to remember that everyday is a great photo day.

This never happens to me in my vehicles at least. In the past when ever I bougt a new camera I put the old one in one of the vehicles and now I always have a camera available. It has worked out well and I have got some unexpected shots because of it. I have attached a photo of a farm in Alabama that I ran across on I 65 early in the morning as the fog was lifting. I turned around on the next exit and whent back to get it. If i hadn't had the old camera in the car I would have missed it and it is a favorite of mine now.

Years ago I went out on an evening scenic shoot with my camera in the trunk of the car. While driving down a back road I came across a bear marking a telephone pole. By the time I got the camera out of the trunk, all I got was bear butt.

Then how do you take pics ??

They must come out with a loss in quality. I think Photoshop has a correction tool for inside a bubble shot but I can't find it on the menus. Probably near the back of the manual around page 11,335.

An illustration. If a carpenter spends $300 for a power saw and never takes it out of the tool shed, what good is it to him. He has money invested in a tool that is doing nothing.

A camera is not a sacred idol, it is a tool. If you bought a Nikon or a Canon DSLR, you likely spent much more than $300. What good is that money if you don't put the investment to work. The only way you ever make that money back is to use the h@%# out of that camera. Get it scuffed, scratched, and dusty (just clean off the dust as soon as you are through with it that day). Use it, use it, use it! When you are done with it, it should look like it has been USED up. Oh, and did I say, You need to USE it, and often, to make it worth owning. One last thought. Take that camera with you everywhere you go, and USE IT!

I had a college friend that worked his way through college as a stringer. He started with a Nikon F black body that was a bronze body by the time he graduated. It was truly a thing of beauty.

Wearing most of the black off my origional Canon F1 was a badge of honor. If you've ever seen the equipment being used on the sidelines of a major college football game you'd be amazed that the stuff still works. You get your money's worth quick under those conditions. Never turn your back on a woman, the ocean, or a college football sideline. Unless your wearing pads and helmet or it's halftime.

When Canon folks get honest with themselves, they end up agreeing with me:):):)

Oh me, what have I started now.

When I bought my first camera I checked Consumers Report. Cannon was considered #1 - Best. Just a FYI. I ended up buying a FugiFilm. It is a better camera than I am a photographer.
