When man tampers with nature bad things happen. The foods we eat now is killing us with cancer. No proof - just saying.

Agree with you on the cancer. Might want to add autism to that epidemic problem too. How about the food allergies that are more prevalent that they ever have been. Wheat allergies and the gmo wheat has no wheat dna and yet an amazing amount of people are allergic to it.

Of course not, it must have something to do with Bush. Obama is merely an innocent bystander. 8-)

So I guess those nuts that developed vaccines, as an example, were "messing with nature" and should have been stopped

You guys sound like the same crowd that bucked Galileo, man. Not everything you don't understand is bad, dudes. Instead of blindly lashing out, perhaps you and your crowd could get our moron elected class to actually have some REAL science performed to measure the MEASURABLE effects of these things that so scare you all!

(Hey, a quick heads up.....we have harnessed nature in the form of electricity!)

No, we did not harness electricity. We learned how it worked and learned to make our own. We can learn from nature and that is all we can do. As for vaccines, we learned to make it, taking what nature had to offer but when we take foods that we grow and try to create what nature does best, we end up killing ourselves. There is so much preservatives in processed foods that we actually harm our bodies.

All of our food is genetically modified and has been for generations. Selective breeding has produced plants and animals with desired characteristics which bear little resemblance to their ancestors.

So-called GMO technology simply speeds the process. That being said, I don't object to labeling which lets people know what they are buying and make their own choices - informed or uninformed.

And to answer the initial question, obviously we are too stupid. Look who we elect...

Exactly! And one could say GMO is nothing more than a foods-growth comp to vaccines, or harnessing electricity or damming rivers.

I would argue that harness is a correct description:

"Harness: To bring under control and direct the force of: If you can harness your energy, you will accomplish a great deal."

Example? Hydro electric power, perhaps?
