Found a really great lens by accident

I have been using the Sigma 30mm 1.4 on my Nikon D300 for a while now. It was mostly sharp and did have a few hiccups when focusing but it did the job. I picked up from my local used camera store a mint condition in the box Nikon 50mm 1.4G and I am here to tell you that this lens is amazing. Focus is quick, completely silent and accurate. The photos are so sharp, contrasty and colorful I do not have to do any post processing other than convert from RAW to JPG. For what I paid for it I am most pleased.

I agree. When I bought my D90 this was the first prime lens I bought. VERY noticeable difference from my kit lenses. Very sad when it got stolen.

There is a thread running about why it's called a nifty fifty. I think you just supplied a good answer.
