Sitting here waiting on UPS to deliver my D7000 back from Nikon. Sent it in for a cleaning and tune up under warranty and they told me my focus was off by 2mm at 1000mm so they replaced the entire focus module. Sunny morning here and I can't wait to take it out for a test spin!

I didn't know that was available. So it has to be done within a year? How long does it take?

For the first year, yes. They will do it anytime, but after warranty expiration its on your nickle.

How long would I be without it? I might have 1,200 shot on mine, so it hasn't been used that much.

About 10-12 days with shipping both ways, if UPS makes it today! LOL You are a lot closer to Nikon than I am though.
I wanted to get mine done before the summer shooting season in case I had a problem, apparently I did.
Trying to make up my mind if I want to get my D90 done or not, it would probably be $60 to $80 for it as its been off warranty for a year now and I am planning on upgrading it this summer. Nice to know your equipment is ready for the season though.

I'd send it to Melville, L. I., just a few miles from where I used to live.

12:20pm, just got mine back. The original email I got said "R" the AF module, the invoice included said all they had to do was "Adjust" the AF operation. Work completed is listed as:
ADJ AUTO FOCUS OPERATION
CKD SHARPNESS
CKD IMAGE TEST
CKD MIRROR ANGLE
CKD FRONT BODY
GENERAL CHECK AND CLEAN

INVOICE AMT. $0.00
And they paid the return shipping.
Ready to shoot again!

What a great subject. Not techincal but look at the comments it stirred up. I am fortunate to be on UHH with such a fun group. I'll think about this each morning when I pour the first cup.

well now it is lunch time. What's everyone doing for lunch? I sit with a sandwich, water and UHH. But the time goes by to fast! See you all after dinner.

Same as everyday. A home made chocolate peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat bread, Carrots, broccoli and ranch dressing. Then dessert of dark chocolate chips, peanuts and cashews. And I eat it at UHH.

Is this also the official site of UHH support group for those of us who are truly addicted???? Is there 12 step program????? Coffee being the first step! LOL

What are the other 11? And don't say 11 more cups of coffee!

First...cuppa coffee
Second step.....donut
Third step.....UHH
Forth step.....o, one more donut won't spoil my diet
Fifth step........darn, need another cuppa
Sixth step.....neighbor just dropped by, gotta make a fresh pot
Seventh step.....make sure batteries are charged
Eighth step.......make some photos
Ninth step....gotta have another cuppa
Tenth step......there's only one donut left...might as well make it a snack for the afternoon
Eleventh step.....share what I found this morning on UHH with a friend
Twelfth step......O! Wait...it's morning again....time to start all over.

Mmmmmm......looks like there really isn't much in the way of intervention for us addicted Hoggers....just more conversation and sharing a few more photographs. Isn't time spent with friends the greatest!!!! Anybody need a refill....or what about a fresh cup?
