Here's the last of the 50's that I took last month.
About my Chevy, I could bury the speedo (120 + mph) on the expressway with all the windows open, I could sit on the grill facing the engine & work on it, ran 14's in the Quarter mile. Stomp on the gas & it threw you back in the seat. Yeah, those were the days.

Thank you for those beauties. I owned a '52 Hudson Hornet similar to #3 for a couple of years in the early '70s. It was 2tone green and would wrap the speedo all the way past 100 and back around to 20mph. It was only a 6cyl auto with one carb, so I can only wonder how the twin carb models ran.

Love the photos. The 57 Chevy Bel Air two door hardtop was the most beautiful automobile ever built IMO.

I looked at over 25 '57 Chevys before I found that one in 1968. All my friends were getting Mustangs/Camaros/Firebirds, but I never followed the pack. Bought it for $450, drove it hard for two years & then sold it for $750 when I went to Europe(courtesy of the U.S. Navy). I had nowhere to store it. Life goes on.

I know what you mean about the stand-up 3/4 shot. At the Nationals, all the cell-photographers were lining up for that snapshot of the new Z/28. I think everyone on the road knows what the current Camaro looks like so I took a different view.
I wanted a Mustang to be my 1st car in 1974. 6 months of hitchhiking to work after school netted a Rangoon Red `65 2+2 fastback for (you guessed it) $450.00. I scattered 2 transmissions in 2 weeks, pulled the engine for my second `Stang and sold the body for a mere seventy-five dollars. :roll: Like girlfriends, you never forget your first one.
