I am 5 days into retirement, and am planning on resuming my deep interest in photography. I worked my way through graduate school as a photographer, but became discouraged when a burglar stole all of my equipment. For the past 40 years I have been a snapshooter, but in the last few years I resumed my landscape and nature photography interest, and will focus on that in the future, I'm looking forward to being critiqued here, and maybe lending some insight of my own. I'm attaching one of my favorite captures.

Aloha OldDoc and welcome to UHH. Congratulations on your retirement. Love your post. I am a bald eagle fan and have loved them since my childhood. Great capture with the movement of the eagle. Am looking forward to more of your pictures. Enjoy.

Hey OldDoc,
Wondering if you are a physician. I am a retired anesthesiologist (3 years of freedom) and I have had time to pursue wildlife and bird photography since retirement. Having a great time and just returned from Canada from photographing birds, mostly loons.
I would enjoy exchanging emails if you want. I am working on a photo website: wotsmithphotos.com

Congratulations and welcome, OD. I'm in the middle of my third year of retirement after forty years as an electrician. Love your BIF. They are not easy to catch. I've spent a lot of time at the Mississippi Palisades, north of the Quad cities, and never caught a shot that good. Have fun and don't take anything too seriously.

I'm "from" Philadelphia, but have been a Long Islander for the past 40 years. But I'm still an Eagles fan.

Welcome. If you live near NYC check out B&H's event space. There are some excellent lectures there with great photographers.
