I have tried to upload photos of 3 to 5 MB on Smugmug and Flickr. It is taking SO long as to be impossible to use. Please advise what to do! Change sharing site or reduce site of photos? If reduce, what size should they be?

3 to 5 Mb should not make a difference. What is your upload speed?

The problem will not get better with a different site.

With many types of internet access, download speeds are often much faster (10x) than upload speeds.

How log is "SO long"? Sometimes my uploads take an hour, I just go find something else to do for a while.

Yes, that sounds fairly reasonable for 3-5GB.

You need to either select fewer pictures, or reduce the size to about 1/10 their current size. Often using a lower jpg quality will do it. On a 1-100 scale, try around 80. On a 1-12 scale, try around 8 or 9. For online viewing, the file sizes you are posting is overkill. For online printing, the number of files is overkill, unless it is for a big event like a tournament where a lot of people might print different shots. Then, just accept the upload time, but break it into smaller pieces.

The computer speed is not a factor, it's all about the upload speed for your situation.

What photo file size is needed to project good images on a 60 inch screen?

Projectors are generally 1080p, 1920x1080 pixels, and the file size could be as small as 100-300 KB (not MB).

Definitely an issue with your Internet Provider/Connection Speed. NOT an issue with the sharing site. Some places that I connect it takes an hour for a 2mb file to upload and other places I can upload several 10mb files in less that 5 minutes.
