They better... but most rule makers, are older white men, who don't give a tinkers dam about womens' rights. If they want all these babies born, men better step up to the plate with support. If not, and many do not, the people should keep their mouths shut about taking away such basic meds (expensive) as womens' conception. Also if a corporation can now make policy based on its ideology, they should immediately lose it's tax exempt status. This contraception issue and womens health care have not been an issue for many many years until our President was elected. I feel it's sorry day for this country when SCOTUS will allow corporations to dictate what is best for a certain segment of the population. Ok guys - are you ready to be a father to 5+ kids.

I read it also, and it amazes me the almost word for word excuses/points she made have been popping up on this forum, and here I thought there was some independent thought.... NOT.

yet one of the main complaints so far in these postings follow the "Main" Line thought also..
Found this in an Economist article... """Today, the Supreme Court ruled against American women and families, giving bosses the right to discriminate against women and deny their employees access to birth control coverage,”""""

Does this sound familiar to you on this particular Forum... and does it by any chance seem just a bit far fetched as well as untrue....

How can any poster on here take the last eight words of the above paragraph and not shake your head in disgust that this is being spouted every where and is just as dishonest everywhere......

Yes, they can, but I'll bet if you wanted your Viagra Hobby Lobby would pay for it. The ruling is completely hypocritical and again is a bunch of old men making decisions for women. It's disgusting and I hope reasonable women stick together and boycott Hobby Lobby and hurt them on the bottom line, that is what will get their attention.

I agree.

Can any of you people that continue to bring up these silly "What If's" actually understand what has gone on in this ruling. In all cases, and in this case particularly NOTHING has been done to keep you/them from getting the pills they want,, Only that their insurance will not pay for it..

My wife goes to a Chiropractor and as part of her treatment she receives acupuncture. Our insurance does not pay for acupuncture, only the "manipulation" BUT she still gets Acupuncture...we just pay for it out of pocket...

If you believe that this one very simple ruling will begin a horrible land slide of Pro Christian/Religious rulings, you are a bit more simple minded that I supposed.....

You were not upset when Prayer was taken out of schools, You are apparently not upset when you see where some school has halted the football team having a prayer before the game. You are apparently not upset when the Valedictorian has his/her speech torn up because "God" was mentioned. Yet your panties are on fire over this very small victory of Religious Belief over PC....

The supreme Court has ruled 5-4 mostly in favor of Hobby Lobby's case seeking exemption from Obamacare mandate of paying for certain abortive contraception medications.

I agree with their decision, and I think it's a step in the right direction of liberty and freedom.

What are your thoughts about this decision?

I disagree with the decision, but unlike the extremist wing nuts who hang out here, I respect the Court even when I disagree.

My problem is this: although They tried to limit the scope (does not apply to blood transfusions, etc.) they did so without any legal reasoning supporting the carve out of contraception from any other medical procedure. They just said so. This is not a very good platform for stare decisis. This issue will come back as other religious groups try for exceptions that they object to on religious grounds. This is simply not good public policy and runs contrary to the overall public opinion and support for the Court.

One side note that does not get much attention: 90% of the merchandise sold by Hobby Lobby comes from China, a country that performs 13 million abortions a year-many of them forced. It seems to me if the owners were true to their faith they would not trade in or profit from such tainted merchandise.

But let's never accuse right wing Christians of being consistent-especially when hard cash is at stake.

Or if you can't do that please tell me where it is in the constitution that informs you that your birth control is a right granted to you under our constitution?
...

That's the old Prussian rule: Everything that isn't expressly permitted is forbidden.
Do you really believe in that, Blurryeyed, or is that what you really are - blurryeyed?

Wow! I can't quite grasp what you are saying.... You must be far to smart for me... and yes, I have a need for reading glasses because I am blurryeyed... but you can't tell that from my photography.... click on the link below to satisfy yourself.

I am laughing at you! None of this screed has anything to do with the actual merits of the case.... read the decision and then bring an informed argument... Grow up!

The decision was made 5/4 along a conservative/liberal and male/female ideological imbalance. The women sided with Ginsburg. That's a roll of the dice in a window of time.

If we were as concerned with unwanted babies after they were born as with before, things might balance out.

And because you think that it is factual that "They" have no care for the babies..... is that your opinion or based on fact.... Do you believe the liberal take that the Conservatives want to take the milk away from babies..... would you believe that, as the Obama Political ad so lovingly showed, conservatives want to push Grandma over the cliff....

You probably do..

No one is keeping anyone from getting contraceptives. If you work for Hobby Lobby or others like them, you can still get contraceptives; just pay for it yourself. Some of the comments here read like no one can get contraceptives if they work for Hobby Lobby; that is not the case. It is only about who pays for them. If you want them, you buy them.

Now you are being silly again.... so far it has been obvious that no amount of "FACT" or "COMMON SENSE" is used by the left Anti Hobby Lobby bunch......

And well they should be pissed. However, I do not see this issue as being between the corporation and the individual. Indeed I see it as a misguided freedom of religion issue between the individuals running the corporation and the individuals under their control. They should not in my opinion as employers, whether under corporate, partnership or sole proprietor status, be able to impose their religious beliefs upon their employees. It is against all fair employment statutes to refuse a person employment based on their religious beliefs or to fire a person based on their religious beliefs. This decision should have followed those precedents. It did not and no matter how it was rationalized, that decision was deceitful and in my opinion wrong. Athough I disagree fully with the governments incursion into our health care system, I feel that if that system is put in place and is being used, that exculpations obviously based on religion should be disallowed. The SCOTUS may exercise their right to insert their heads up their asses but they have no right to no knock entry into a womans bedroom.
And well they should be pissed. However, I do not ... (show quote)

I realize that I am typing my fingers bloody here... but Hobby Lobby nor the Court imposed their religious beliefs on anyone..... The simple facts are 1) Hobby Lobby is not going to pay you for certain Pills and 2) You are not required to get pregnant, pay for your pills your self.

Nothing has been imposed upon you as to your rights, only as to your pocket book..

Again, you just show your active imagination, the court specifically spoke about blood transfusions in the decision and affirmed that the decision did not include them or vaccines or a host of other things as the decision was specifically on these drugs, the RFRA, the ACA, and the availability to the government less restrictive measures to provide the coverage to these women without interfering with the religious belief systems of these business owners...

Hey, but I understand your need to spread lies and rumors.... Hell you are just following the president's lead, truth should never stand in the way of a progressive agenda.
