iPhoto and Aperture Ending Soon

I've been using Aperture for 5-6 years now and find it easy to use and intuitive like most of the Apple programs. Given Jobs distaste for Adobe, I find it hard to accept that Apple will abandon us to LR which I have and tried using on several occasions when it can "find" the photo I just imported! This is so intricate I can only hope the Photo for OS X will be as good as Aperture.

How would I move all my Aperture and iPhoto images to a separate drive, I have never done this before and need some instructions on how to do it?
