Hello, I just discovered this site today after looking for some sort of photography forum to join.
I currently do a lot of photo manipulation (mostly memorials, but branching out) and am always on the hunt for advice and tips! I would love to find a mentor that I can learn from :)
I've attached a few of my recent memorial photos...the first one was done to display at my best friends funeral.
I also do classic car shows...the last photo is a recent job.
Advice/critiques welcome!

first may i offer condolences for the loss of your best friend? I am truly sorry. I love your crazy compositions and out of the box thinking in the design of these photos. very creative. I too love car shows and want to see more of your work. your avatar is first rate too.

Thank you (on both accounts)! I do try to be different...I want to provide a service that is not commonplace out there. People come to me with a vision of a lost loved one and I try to bring that vision to life for them. Some people may see what I do as morbid, but it really seems to bring comfort to those who have lost someone they love.
As for the car shows, I am just getting into that. As an antique carr buff, I am finding it a lot of fun to get out there and check out all the classics!

wow just wow to both car shots. don't listen to those who say its morbid, you have to find a niche market in order to survive in today's economy. It kept bugging me who the guy on the back of the motorcycle reminded me off, then it occurred to me add a few tatoos and he could be dog the bounty hunter.

no problem. I think you could also find a niche market at car shows. I would make a portfolio book of your best edited and plain car shots, print up some business cards and offer professional pauto portraits to everyone who has entered a car in the show. classic cars is a rich mans hobby. people have sunk 20-50k in a vehicle that they are proud off. These people will pay $200-$400 for a nice package of photos of their baby professionaly done.

I have decided to go with that idea! We have a huge annual car show here in Charleston and it happens to be this month. I have made up some flyers to promote my work during the week long car show. Tell me what you think!

Why hasn't some magazine scooped you up??? Used to be a biker - still am at heart - loved the first photo riding thru the clouds. Fine - I'm just another lump on a log but in my opinion you are darn good. Get your work out more - make the magazines see what you can do, what you are capable of.

Thank you for the kind words and encouragement. I would love to submit some photos to some of the street rod magazines, but Im unsure as to what would be the first steps. Any suggestions?

Gotta love my fellow bikers :) I was party raised by them and in my opinion they are some of the finest people I know. Somehow honor, loyalty and respect has gotten lost in todays world.
