This was taken at my local fireworks last 4th of July.
It won 1st place and BoS in one of my clubs pictorial competitions.
I actually have an ulterior motive, as this is a re-post from my "Fireworks, How to shot them", post in the Main Photography Discussion. And I invite anyone with fireworks shots, especially special techniques, to post them there with an explanation of how they were made.
Please post your shots in the main discussion.
Enjoy the pic and thanks for looking. ;-)

congratulations. What makes this shot for me is that you have the crowd included. Nice shot.

EB, thanks, this is an environmental shoot. I'm using the surroundings to tell a more complete story. It's not just about the fireworks itself, but also the location.
Again, thanks. ;-)

I can see why you won--awesome shot--well deserved
well done ! the background really adds to that photo as it "tells a story" really well.
I took a lot of fireworks in Paris with the Eiffel tower on the side. They turned out pretty well.
Jill, thanks for WOWing me. That might be a first for me.
Thanks. ;-)
