Another two words that get misused

Practice and practise

One is a place of work for a doctor for example and the other is the repetition of a task to become better at it

But do you know which is which ;)

The other thing is misspelling by you Americans , it's grey and colour for example lol

We don't have practise here, but we do have patients (people)and patience (an attribute).

You can thank Noah Webster for the differences between English and American spelling. He had several reasons for changing the spellings of some words.

One of my favorite lines on DIY shows: "I'm gonna need to pre-drill some holes." I guess there's a special drill for pre-drilling. I'll have to ask the next time I'm in Lowe's.

Jerry I was going to nag you about your words but then saw the smiley face at the end. Good going.

Yes Jerry, the pre drill is smaller than the final drill.
One could call it a pilot drill to make a pilot hole.
There are drills for countersinking. They are much bigger than the final hole but you don't drill down very far. Lol.

Pre drill before you pilot drill!

Can I buy a set of pre-drills online? I like to use the right tool for the job.

It's the DeWalt Mod 1 MKIII Pre-Drill, complete with 1/4"-7/16" pre drills :)

I think the official name is the PreDeWalt...

It's available for pre-ordering at Lowe's Pr-Ordering desks around the country. Next time you go into town, pre-plan to go there.

Yes, you can pre-order. If you want to cancel the pre-order, you must de-pre-order.

Another one is "are" and "our." We still sound out our words. :)
