At times, when shooting a great deal of greenery, there is a great deal of reflected light. This shows up as a tint in the image and is normal. It can easily be adjusted - as with the tint slider in LightRoom.

This is also common when photographing snow where the blue sky is reflected and a cool cast can result. In this case, you would simply move the color temp slider to make it a little warmer.

This information is spot on correct from my personal experiences. Saying hello from Pittsburgh.

I guess that there are now two of us who think this way. In my side of the Steeler Country, that is enough for a majority.

I visited last weekend about a dozen garden squares in London which are not normally open to the general public. Each of the 40 odd pictures I took have a horribly green colour cast, see sample below.
What am I doing wrong (I am taking pictures in my own garden, albeit a much smaller one, and never have this green tint).
All pictures were taken with WB 'cloudy' or 'auto'.
I always shoot 'vivid' (in 'neutral/standard' the colours appears to me washed out).
Your comments/advice would be appreciated.

I played with your photo a little bit. To my eye there is way too much yellow in the greens and reds. I don't know whether that's from the vivid setting or from WB set to cloudy (although I can't tell whether it actually was cloudy when you took it). You can easily reduce yellow, maybe boost red only slightly, and have a balance that is very nice.

Looks fine to mr. As suggested, perhaps calibrate your monitor.

Photo looks fine to me. No offense but, have you had your eyes checked lately? Everyone agrees it seems neutral to them.
Sorry if i offended you but that seems to be a variable that wasn't mentioned. Good Luck

Not everyone. The OP and some others also expressed that the color cast was off. Besides me, another post also referred to correcting the yellow balance. No two people perceive colors in exactly the same way so I was careful not to depend just on myself to view it and found that I wasn't alone in immediately noticing the off-color cast of the photo.

It isn't difficult to analyze colors using a photo editing program. A photo's areas of "greens" and "reds" usually do show a yellow component, but in this case there was more than the usual amount of it.

Offense? Of course not. I assume that those posting on UHH do so to discuss photography, not to offend each other.
