Thank you Sylvia! Think of how many folks go through life and never see the things we show each other here. It is an awesome place to hang out isn't it!

Thank you Donna! If I know the painters, they will just paint over them.:):) But having bugs in the house is a good thing, they eat other bugs. Always look on the good side.:):):) Oh, and sleep good tonight thinking about that!:):):)

Wow, very good, Erv. I have painters at the house and better check to see if they have a camera! I hope they can't find anything like this insect inside the house! :)

Great job!

Thanks Doc!! And thank you for the name! I have files I put stuff I take in and try to find names for them.:) I took a shot of one just like this. But his butt was white. I didn't post it because the shot was so far away it didn't turn out to good. I haven't had time to do a search yet.

Thank you Doc! Here are the shots I took. Was sitting in the yard and saw it land by the fence. Good thing I took these because as soon as I got up, it was gone. They must have good eyes.:):) This was pretty far from where I was sitting. The close ups are just large crops.:) They were taken at 300mm.

Not bad at all! Too bad it wasn't on a flower. But you know what? You take what you can get.

The folks at work laugh at me when they see me running for the camera.:) But if you don't try to get the shot, you will never get another try. At lest I don't:):)

What a great opportunity that wetland must hold for critters to photograph. Just watch out for the "skeeters."

It is an awesome place to work. Close to home too.:) I have been there for 32 years. I helped build it and in a weak moment I said yes.:):) If you would like to see it I will add the link to it. I took all the pictures on the site.:):)

As for the skeeters, want to buy some? :):)

Hey Erv thanks for posting those photos. Yes it is a Common Whitetail (Plathemis lydia). Very nice captures of these magnificent creatures. As for the eyes, they are the best in the animal world. Not the type of vision for distance that a raptor has but what they can see and how they use it would blow your mind. 60,000 lenses in the two compound eyes and the 3 three simple eyes function is amazing. They can almost see 360. Below and behind is their hardest area to see and birds know it.
