Suggest me a good pocket cam.

I'd like you suggestions for a decent pocket camera for under $250. Something with a reasonable zoom of 10X would be good. And maybe useable 800ISO, too. So far, the Nikon Coolpix s8100 seems to qualify. Anything else out there?
Not too many out there in that price range with that kind of zoom. Best idea would be to watch for sales and go from there.

Just looking for personal recommendations right now. This field is very new to me. I have a DSLR, m4/3rds, and a nice superzoom. Need something smaller to just grab and go, and not worry too much about.
I have my Fuji FinePix S1500 which is a bridge camera and a little bulky to try and carry when bike riding so that is why I got my Kodak EasyShare M530. Now that Kodak is getting out of the camera business I would stay away from their cameras. Besides, they don't have much zoom. Sony, Nikon and Canon have decent zooms on them but are high priced in my area when looking at a zoom higher than 3x.

Panasonic Lumix ZS 9. I have one so new I'm still trying to get it outfitted to take with me everywhere. 14MP.16X +21X $129.. I'm not sure of the Amazon price now. It will fit in my chest pocket stripped down without the OP/ Tech neck strap and extensions. Case Logic camera case with two extra batteries and one extra battery charger. and one 32GB and One 8 GB. I just wanted to be prepared. I have not shot over two hundred pics yet. Working to get me dialed into the camera to use the thing.(weather). It shoots JPEG only. That can be changed in PS. I hope that All this helps. The next one up, Panasonic Lumix Lx (5). Way more money. $350. It won't fit your pocket but you get a bunch of camera Canon G 12 $$$$ Randy H :D
I have had Nikons for years, but after reading reviews on Nikon p&s i got a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H70 < lots of setting and 12 Pixels and 10X zoom carry it more than my D3

I was wondering about the Sony H70. Thanks for reminding me. Saw it in a local store, and about the only thing I recall is that the buttons on the rear looked cheezy to me. Are they solidly reliable? Perhaps I should give it another look. Thanks
Canon s95 is the best! Has almost all the features of an DSLR except, of course only one lens!
I almost got H70 but the one I got was on sale and close to the H70 at Office Depot
I'd have to second the Canon S95. I have 2 Nikon DSLRs and an Olympus E-Pen3 Micro 4:3 but when it comes to grab and go the S95 is smaller and fully featured and as it's been around a little while it's available for a lot less than I paid for it.
