I dealt with magazine editors for years so I can take. This straight out of camera, no PP or cropping.

Thank you. I have had a long time fascination for shooting the moon. Back in film days, did a lot of double exposures. Much more difficult then, at least for me.

Good shot Shootr, what lens and camera? what settings? i'll have to look back and see who had it, but the moon shot was absolutely stunning in detail. He admitted doing some photo correcting, but what a piece of work. I'll see if I can find it.

I too have that same fascination, here is a shot from my d5100 300mm nikkor lens. This was taken during a lunar eclipse where the moon gets its light from the light reflecting from earth. It's known as a "blood Moon" It only happens once in several years.

I really enjoy seeing what others do with Moon shots. I must admit I'm another Moon fanatic, but I like to spice my shots up a bit. This first one from May 20th, 2014 with star field and dark side added for effect. It's a little off centered...was to tired to re-shoot it. The second is from April 19th, 2014 with less zoom. Neither have been cropped, these are as seen through my viewfinder.

I'm a REAL AMATURE, but I was tickled when I got several moon shots a few weeks ago.

James - I like the Post work you did - it is really effective and done extremely well. I am including my shot from last week - the best I've been able to do after 1000s of exposures. Done with a Canon EF 300mm f4 L and a 1.4 extender. Yes there is some PP work here.
