I too am new to this. I haven't posted a photo yet so I understand how you feel. I think you did very good. I am not qualified to give you technical feedback but I like them. I guess like most things we just have to do it and learn as we go.I think with advise from the good folks here we can't help but improve and enjoy a great hobby more.

No one (even the best on this site) was born an expert photographer. We all gotta start somewhere. This is an excellent site to learn or just post for fun. By the way, the flower with the bee is very nice. If we all liked the same things there wouldn't be enough to go around anyway.

I think you are wrong. I, for one, was born an expert photographer. But then somewhere along my journey through life I lost my expertise. Now I am a pretty good photographer. Ha. I bet many people feel the same way.

I like your pictures. Even more I like that you put them out for all to see. Believe me I have seen some pictures on this forum that make yours look like they were done by a true expert in the art of floral photography. Some of them were probably mine that weren't as good.

I learn much by posting my pictures. After all how else would any of us learn. Sometimes I post my pictures and I think they are great. But then someone looks at them and says use more light, shoot at a different angle, what lens are you using etc. Their suggestions or comments make me think about all of those things and more and my pictures get better.

As I hear here often, practice, practice, practice. It works.

I like the simplicity you've achieved by isolating your subject and avoiding excessive clutter in your images. Now that you've gotten over your "opening night jitters, if you should ever wonder about how other people seem to get all of their subject totally in focus, part of that could be due to the information you will find at the urls below. Have a look here when you have time and if it should prompt a question or two, just ask. Someone here will be most happy to discuss it with you:

A wise person once told me, many years ago, that it was none of my d*mn business what other people think of me. That advice has served me well.

My purpose in posting photos on UHH is not to fish for acclaim (although if it comes, I relish it!), but to learn and grow; other's suggestions, comments and yes, criticisms, will help me grow as a photographer.

shoot, shoot, shoot, post post, postm read, read, read.Never be afraid of constructive comments.

Shot one, what was your point of interest? Seems soft

Shot two, Leaves look blown out, flower cone looks good.

Shot 3, over saturated, kills delicate detail, under expose a stop or two for better results.

Shot D, for no reason I simply do not prefer the composition, the background competes with the flower.

You seem to have a good eye for what might make a viable image, Just keep shooting and polishing your craft, you will do fine
