I asked this once before and got no responses. Does anyone know how to reduce the size of an HDR image so it can be sent in an e-mail or posted on this site? It is a combination of 3 shots and the final image says the file is too large to send. Any ideas? I don't know a lot about resizing - it seems usually it is done automatically.
Picasa from Google will easily resize/create a copy small enough for e-mail.
I use this for quick rsize for say Facebook posting.
http://www.faststone.org/FSResizerDetail.htmOr all Photoshop products will enable you to "save as" then pick you size and file type.

What are you using to resize your pic? There's a difference between resizing the image dimensions and image resolution. But it would help to know what you're using.
Simply done, I open the image in Microsoft Office Picture Manager and choose the resize option (largest option is 1024x768 - which is fine for this forum) . . . and save it as xsmall.jpg or something discerning it from the original file. Whether an HDR image or any too-large size image . . . resizing is resizing. You just have to use the tools you have. Since I don't know your arsenal of software, I suggested the easiest way I know.
Open image in Photoshop. Go to Image, Image size. Change horizontal to 1024, if it is a horizontal image, and vertical 768, if the image is portrait or vertical and click OK. It is now sized for sending by e-mail. .
