Just to broaden horizons; there are lots of UHH members in other countries. Who has the best photographic oportunities for a meeting?

Best photo ops, huh? In that case I vote for the Playboy Mansion!

To be serious for a moment (How I hate that!), I think it would be nice to have a section here on the Hog where members and groups of members could connect to discuss vacation plans among members and small groups. Going on a particular cruise? Getting several members together for photo excursions in the various ports could be fun, etc. My wife and I will be on Oahu for 10 days this fall. One of the things I plan to do is a helicopter tour. My wife will be at the spa. She hates to fly. Being able to meet up with a Hog member for the photo op could be fun. Not necessarily sharing a vacation, but being able to meet up with other photographers at times could be enjoyable.

Olana would be a great place to arrange a meet up of NY hoggers. :D

Have it in Gatlinburg, TN. Beautiful mountains, national park, and Gatlinburg is used to having conventions!

That would be a tough question to answer. Every state in America has beautiful places to see and photograph. Now factor in other countries starting with Canada and then the rest of the countries I don't think there is any geographic location on the globe that does not have spectacular photographic opportunities.

I like this idea as well. I have to sometimes travel for training (usually for 2 weeks at a time) Always looking for something to do on the weekends, would be nice to hook up with other Hog members that would know the area. How can request a section be added?
Thanks,
Andy

I don't think requesting a new section would be necessary. Not that it couldn't be done but how about simply posting that you will be in a certain city on the following dates and would like to meet up with fellow Hoggers to take pictures and discuss photography. That would seem simpler and far less formal.

I would possibly be up for that at some central location to most. I'm I'm Birmingham, Al. I'm 2 hours from Atlanta and 3 hours from Chattanooga, TN. Someplace that's really good for some interesting pics.

Just don't be too specific on an open forum as to when no one will be home at your house. Save that for PMs.

Excellent suggestion! Hadn't considered that either. The wife would be home, but still need to be careful.
Thank you!

I VOTE for Merced California!!.........,WHY??
It has LOTS of cheap hotels, but the photographer there SUCKS!!

BUT, it's the gateway to Yosemite!!
For many, Yosemite is on their bucket list.
If you have not shot Yosemite, you're not really a landscaper!!
SS

It's gotta be better than Biloxi Mississippi !!
