Taken with my iPhone. Ready to decide between the Canon 1100D or the Nikon D3200. Have loved my Canons for years...but I'm thinking it might be time for a Nikon...

I am a Nikon person, but I would have to think long and hard about changing to Cannon regardless. With the investment I've made over the years in Lens. If you lens investment isn't in the equation. Then perhaps.

Thanks Bill.
Think I'm gonna pull the trigger on the Nikon D3200 with an additional 55-200mm Nikon lens. What's your take on the difference between a 200mm vs a 300mm?

I have D3200 along with the D5300.

Lens 18MM to 140mm Use this one most of the time.
55MM to 300MM - Rarely unless doing Wild things. to strong for normal in close. Good for flowers and small things.
11-24mm - Ideal for large gatherings and inside rooms. I have used it for landscapes but prefer to stitch them together with a 55mm.

I also have a few of the older lens without VR. over all I prefer the 18-140 for general all around carry lens.

Thanks so much for the great info. Did a bit of lens research as a result.
Sadly I've come to find I cannot afford the Nikon 18-200mm VR DX...
It would be my dream lens.
The simplicity of for the most part...using one lens is really appealing.
So thanks.
Would like to know how you like your D3200.

I have three Csmeras, The D60 X that I use when I'm a group setting up close, There the Lack of Meg's is not a problem. When I'm working like yard work, I use the D3200 so I can crop more 24MP, When I in the woods, or trails I use the 5300,

The D3200 as far as I'm concerned does a great Job. I wouldn't have bought the D5300. But a relative borrowed my off road Side By Side, decided the 55MPH was just right or driving threw the washes out there in the South West and bounced my hole carrying box off the machine, and the bolts holding it down. I purchased the 5300 only to have the D60X and D3200 returned two weeks later. I decided to keep it since the lens fit so nice. LOL
