Need some help, a friend of mine wants to sell me his used Canon T3i, now I have never used a Canon, as most of my friend know I am a Nikon person, but he wants to dump if for $200.00, now all my friends that use Canons seem to have Canons D6 and D7 and double Ds but nothing about this Canon, those that use it would be a big help in filling me in on it's ability and soundness.
Thanks guys any and all suggestions is welcomed

You could probably buy it for $200 and sell it for a profit on ebay. The T3i is not a top tier Canon.

I will purchas the $200 camera is you do not.. Thanks
I've owned mine for two years. For me, it's perfect. It does everything i need to do, it's the right size and weight, easy to use and never has given me a problem. If you're a Professional and need some of the "Bells and Whistles," that the higher priced Canons offer, then it's not for you. If you're like me, Nature shots, birding, macro, landscape shots, then i would recommend it.
I use a T3i and it has been a terrific camera for me, This camera does everything I need it to do and more. I have followed the advice of many on this forum who say invest in good glass over a fancier camera. I want to move to a full frame but honestly there is no compelling reason to do so. I would love it even more if I had only paid $200!
I have one and like it a lot. Well worth the $200. It's a perfect carry around camera with an 18-200 lens or the 18-135 attached...Rich
Have you handled it? There can be quite a difference in the feel, shape/weight and so forth, between Nikons and Canons. And also the crop-sensor SLR's, like this T3i.
I love my T3i and I love the 55-250 kit lens I bought around the same time.
But if all your friends have the full-frame cameras, will you be happy with "less" ? :) I know many people get a bit hung up on gear rather than the ease of use, quality for the price, and so forth.
It is quite a good camera.
It is not an investment.

The pictures on this link are great. I like the T3i as well. I went backwards from a T5i to the T3i. Just something about the first one I didn't like and I can't put my finger on what it was.
For $200 you don't really need to ask. Just buy it. If it is in good condition it is worth every penny of that price. I had one for 2 yrs and it took excellent photos.
I received one as a gift. Great camera but it feels a little small in my right hand.

What do you think it would do that your current cameras do not do? Do you still have the Nikon pro body and D3x00?

You didn't mention if it had a lens with it or not.
I'm transitioning from an Olympus OM1 film camera to a T3i DSLR, and I love it. It's a great camera for the price, and $200 is a great price. It's not full frame, but it is much lighter than a full frame. My advice, if you can afford it is to buy it and try it out. If you decide you don't like it, I'm sure someone on here will be glad to take it off your hands!
