I would like to know how I can tell a MFT lens by looking at the information on the front of the lens.

The best way to tell is to get familiar with the line of lenses offered by the different manufacturers, because it is hard to tell by just looking, most have no markings specific to their mount.

MY Olympus and Panasonic MFT lenses have no reference to micro four thirds.

My Sigma Lens has "Micro" with a logo on the side.

As the previous reply indicated , you need to do a little research. Go to B&H Photo and search lenses by micro four thirds and it will show what is available for all manufacturers.

Thank you all for your answers. The reason I asked was because my 1442 say's M.ZUIKO, and I wondered if the M. meant something.

Occasionally, you'll see MFT, μ4/3 or the following logo stamped on the lens:

The lens cap (back) has the micro logo on it, nothing on the lens.

I've got the micro 4/3, 12-40mm PRO lens, and on the side, is the logo as in Mogul's picture, with the word 'Micro' beside it.

I just picked up 8 different Panasonic and Olympus lenses in the store. at the rear of each lens on the opposite side of the red mounting indicator they all have the micro four thirds logo. I am trying to up load the logo but if it doesn't upload Google "Micro Four Thirds Logo" and you will see the logo that appears on all micro four thirds lenses

Thank you for that. Wish I had a camera store here in Jacksonville, FL.

Off topic but how do you like the pan 20mm 1.7 lens? I'm debating that or the new 25mm 1.4. Reviews on both are really good.
I have a lumix gm1.
Thanks.
Also debating a zoom. Maybe 40-140?

The 20 1.7 is a razor sharp lens with a slow AF motor. The 25 1.8 is a great sharp lens too, although I opted for the faster panasonic f/1.4 version (the deal was too great to pass on 325 barely used). The 25 1.8 version is light and small, like the 45 1.8 (which is a stellar lens as well)

What's your source for used lenses? I tried bandh with no luck. Are the lenses easy to handle? Small enough? My gm 1 is pretty tiny. Does the 25 mm
1.4 focus faster? Thank you
