I'm sorry perhaps you got lost but this is the People Photography board not the Flowers and Sunsets board. I don't need to have a clue about landscape photography I get paid to photograph people not rocks. If you want to discuss photographing people I am happy to talk to you but if you just want to keep kicking cans well you are in the wrong place.

It was you who brought up landscape photography in this thread Bobby Deal, not me, so why do you now act as if I brought it up?

Enough of the I said you said. You are the one that came in guns blazing and slinging insults. You made your point you don't like me but I am not going away and you have no power to change that so get over yourself and get back in your dog house.

I have made my point, I don't like you I have no professional respect for you and refuse to give you any dread ability until you drop the cloak of anonymity.

If you want to talk people photography I am more than happy to have a. Professional conversation with you. If you want to keep slinging the troll mud then I will find the ignore user button and you will cease to exist to me.

You call us a mutual admiration society but more education is happening here then anywhere else on UHH. The funny thing about professional admiration is that it is akin to respect it is something you earn.

If you think I came in "guns blazing" then you need to get a different check on reality, a thicker skin.
I didn't sling insults, I told it how it was.
You responded with name calling and personal insults and your sychophantic friends joined in.
You don't like me? Frankly Bobby, I don't care.
I don't dislike you, but I sure as hell see through your thin plastic veneer.

Very eloquent tsilva, such poetry, you certainly have a way with words.

You came in insulting the subjects of the photos and accusing me of posting for no reason other than shock value. Now lets get back on topic

Insulting the subjects?
"These photos show nothing but posers with a fetish."
This is all I said about them.
I see nothing that has made me change my opinion.
Is that an insult is it?

You did post for shock value.
It certainly wasn't to show your lighting technique.
You could have shown that lighting with myriad images, but you chose the ones with people hanging from hooks by their skin.

Yes, it is an insult, and it is an insult to people who are not here to defend themselves.

Why I posted is really none of your damn business now is it? Who are you the forum police? If you think I broke the rules you are free to click the Report Post Link and report me. I posted these because I wanted to post them pure and simple. End of story end of discussion

I'm tired of sanctimonious twits. And apparently you know even less about poetry than you do photography. Go away little boy, you bore me.

I paid the same money as you to come in the gate Bobby and I am entitled to my opinion.
For someone with such an apparently big superiority complex you sure do get defensive.
Maybe you are just masking an inferiority complex with bluff and bravado.
Seems like you only want to be surrounded by sychophants to massage your ego and tell you how wonderful you are.
So pure and simple, why did you want to post the images with people hanging from hooks through their skin?
You went into a big spiel about it at the beginning, warning people about it.
You must have had a reason for wanting to post images that you felt you had to warn people that the images "couldn't be unseen once looked at".

And verse 2 is just as eloquent as the opening stanza.
Well done tsilva, you are on a roll!!
Keep it going.

TSilva, let it be he is no longer worth responding to. He is trolling pure and simple and responding is only feeding him. He has fallen to rehashing issues that have already been addressed. There is nothing left to see here.

So lets get back to photography

What the hell.....I needed a good laugh today and this done the trick. Ok - Bobby, you are damn good in what you do with photography and putting it in an artistic form. Why lower yourself to the troll level - you're much better than that. Granted, even I may not understand everything you do, or why, but I do understand photographic art when I see it and you do excellent work. So......have a pepsi, forget this wasted lapse - and keep up the good work.

Thank you and you are right of course, I am as much to blame as anyone for the thread getting sidetracked because I allowed my enjoyment of the art of the debate to get the better of me.

I appreciate that you can see the art in the posted images. For me I love the shots and the session was one of the most intriguing and emotionally charged sessions I have ever participated in. Yea it is a bit of a graphic subject but overall the response to the art of it has always been positive. Shots from this session hung in a major Downtown Las Vegas Gallery for a 90 day show and response, particularly the response of people reaching for their credit cards to own a pice of this series was excellent. In 90 days we sold 14 framed and matted prints 16x20" - 36x42" in size plus a multitude of smaller prints. So I would say the public ultimately enjoyed the show. Of course there were those who did not understand what they were seeing, were unable to wrap their minds around the motivation of the act but hey that is an emotional response too and that is what art does it elicits emotion in those who view it. The places I have shared the work online have further supported the same typical results so in truth this result should not have phased me. It is interesting how much easier it is to explain the emotions and motivations when you are face to face as opposed to trying to type it out for a hostile interrogator.

So unless anyone is interested in the particulars behind lighting such a large amount of space in a way to create the commercial high key look I have presented these in I will move on. I have since posted a couple new threads for discussion so we can get back to talking about what we are really here for.

Clear evidence of your self centred and egotistical mindset Bobby.
Of course you think those who like it understand it, and you think that those who don't like it, "did not understand what they were seeing, were unable to wrap their minds around the motivation of the act."
You seem to think that "sales" equals quality. People will pay for a whole heap of crap if you let them, take Rhein II for instance.
