Sony Cyber-shot Digital Camera HX50V - High Zoom (30X optical) point and shoot which does a good job in low light, particuarly when you use manual. Taken it to many concerts, never use the flash.

Do you know what the maximum aperture is on that? I couldn't find it.

Wow, embarrassed to say can't find it either. Have the question into Sony. Will post when I get it.
Sorry, the camera suits me well for what I do and don't get into all the technical stuff that many people here do.
You will get an answer as soon as I have it.

Thanks. Nothing critical. I just thought I had missed it. They list the aperture for their other cameras.

I own a Canon Powershot SX 260, (280 is the upgraded version), am pleased with, but, there is no viewfinder, my only complaint. :-)

I seems like some manufacturers are adding viewfinders - like the new Sony RX100 III. I hate shooting on my Sony WX9 w/o a viewfinder. It's just point-and-hope.

They are a lot more usable if they are touchscreen. The last time out, I didn't use my viewfinder...

I don't especially like touchscreens on cameras. We had to replace a Sony camcorder because the touchscreen stopped working. If I can't see the LCD in the sun, then touching is useless. I like a basic, optical viewfinder.

Will look at this one for sure as the FZ200 did look a little larger than I want. Thank you.

Not all screens are built the same.

According to all the test reports I've seen the Olympus OM micro 4/3 is the best low light camera out there. I gave an om-5 and it's great in low
Light situations.

I have been pleased with the Nikon S8200's performance in low light.

Check out the Panasonic LX7, fantastic little camera and has a very fast 1.4 lens. Its one of my regular cameras and the lenses are Leica.
