My wife and I decided to go to the zoo here in Richmond. With a long weekend and the official start of summer we needed to take time for our selves and have a little fun. Some of these shots were taken through glass and fences. With in just a few hours took about 500 shots here are just a few. Click the download to get full effect.

#7 I wonder what he is thinking? Nice capture. Is this a big zoo, in Roanoke we just have a little zoo that we try to support but would be nice to go to a nicer one.

Yes it is a good size zoo. Takes about 3 hours to see everything. They also have the skyride the safari train. And the zip line for the younger crowd or the very fit. Of wich I am neither  . The colors do not look right on my monitor but I guess on the download they look ok. Time for a new monitor. Thank you for the comment. Come up and visit you will not be dissapointed.
Nice captures, however try to brighten up your work a little.

Thank you for your comment. I brightened them up on the tiger a little bit. Did not spend a lot of time editing when I posted. I think these may be a little better.

Thanks for the info on the zoo, sounds like a good overnight or weekend trip for us, I know there are other things to do in the area as well, our local photo club has done a meetup in Richmond and made some great images.
On your photos I personally liked the cooler temperature but that was my preference, yes maybe it could have been enhanced a bit for some color/ clarity/ sharpness and such but I like your original better, will I get in trouble here for saying that.

You a very welcome. No trouble here for the most part I have always leaned to the under exposed or darker image. I got interested in photography in my freshman year in high school in 1978 even then I leaned to darker photos. Old habits are sometimes hard to break. Pull up the richmond zoo on the internet lots to check out. :-D :-D

I don't remember a Zoo in Richmond in the 40s-50s-not saying there wasn't one there, just was not familiar with it.Where is it? In grade school we took a trip to the Washington Zoo which was pretty spectacular. The whole Zoo thing reminds me that I should go to our Zoo in Syracuse and take some photos.
Nice pics, Davis!

The zoo is located outside of Richmond a little town called Mosley. Its about 25 miles from Richmond and 14 miles from my house. I have been to the D.C. Zoo a couple of times I agree with you an amazing place. I enjoy going to the zoo it is one of my wifes favorite places to go and mine just for the photo opps. Thank you for looking and your kind words.

Thanks for the info, Davis. Interesting, that the Zoo is located 25 miles "outside" of Richmond. I would have thought the City/county could have located it closer to the city. Our zoo here in Syracuse is within the city limits.
