Olympus has a 20% discount this weekend. A refurbished E-M5 is going for just over $500. Pretty sweet deal. Would leave you some money for glass.
In what way does the E-M5 improve on the Sony A6000 bearing the OP's objectives in mind?

I have the new Nikon 1 V3. It is a great camera. Now that it is out there should be some really good deals on the Nikon 1 V2 which I also have and it too is a great camera.
Jerry I to am a Nikon 1 fan (have a V1 and a J1 and many lenses). Just wondering why you like your Nikon 1 system (and I do mean the whole system) For me the idea of a mirrorless camera is DSL like qiuality but smaller size and less weight. If the camera has a DX or FX size sensor the lens needs the be the DX or FX size and weight (so you really do not have much size/weight benefit of going mirrorless idea). I think the 1" sensor is a perfect to take advantage of smaller and lighter lens, although to save some money I still use my F adapter.
The OP specifically excluded Nikon cameras so are you Guys trying to help him or just bragging about your cameras?

I was just trying to see why Jerry likes his camera. Maybe a little off topic, sorry. But I was addressing the question to Jerry.

Sony A6000!
I have the Olympus EM1 and it is great. But when I want to go light the Sony is the one I take!
Good optics? Great available optics!
Larger sensor than Olympus.
Super focusing.
Excellent viewfinder.
The Sony A3000 will allow more money for better glass ......

I like the Nikon 1 cameras a lot for use on F-mount telephoto lens. Now that there a Nikon 1 70-300 mm I will be using that a lot when it arrives. Then I can take full advantage of the amazing auto focus of the N1V3.
Here are some galleries where I have used Nikon 1 cameras with different lens:

That would also seem to me to be a superb choice. If I didn't use an EM1, that would be my easy choice.

Olympus EM10 and a 17mm 1.8 is a killer street combo.
It's on sale for a $100 off right now. Touch screen and an articulated screen come in really handy.
Jerry, Very impressive. I have been using the F1 Mount with a kit 55-200 and am happy with the results. I like the bokah I get witht he 18.5

Yes if you want a grey import.
Anyway the suggestion was for the XT1 not X100.

Less expensive and weather sealed.

Ok...1,200 for brand new from B&H....but I get that you were discussing the X-T1...I had suggested the X100S so that's what i thought was being talked about.
X100 is even cheaper.

The OM5 may have better weather sealing but it's older, priced about the same in the UK and doesn't come close to the a6000 in IQ.
I guess if weather sealing takes priority over AF speed, resolution and general IQ, you may have a winner. I would have said the 5-axis stabilisation was a better feature to cite than weather sealing but what do I know?
