Castell Coch, Outskirts of Cardiff, Wales.
What a great old castle. Most of the castles I visited in Germany were mostly ruins. Nice to see one that still maintains its former glory.

Hi, The Castle was built on the site of a 13th Century fortification, but is classified as a 9th-century Gothic Revival. Quite impressive however.
What a beautiful place. Would love to see this in person.

Well you can see a scaled down version if you like in Franklin Tennessee. A friend built one using the original plans from Castell Coch. He also hosts an annual Medieval Festival there on his grounds each year. Well worth a drive there. The owner's name is Mike and he often leads the tour around the place. He has a beard and used to be the size of a slightly slimmer King Henry VIII in his later years
If you do visit and see him, tell him Lucian says hello. I used to visit the real place a lot when I was back home in Wales, we lived about 30 mins away. Nice pics by the way, rjallen
NIce photos; thanks for posting.

Lovely shots of a fantastic place.
The domed ceiling is exquisite.
The courtyard makes me think of Shakespeare and the old globe theatre.
Oh my goodness! How beautiful!

I think you meant 19th century Gothic Revival.
