Victoria Day Races. A bird photographer doing race cars.
My good friend Harvey has been urging me to go to the track, not just as a spectator but to take pictures, of course. "Get out of your comfort zone" he keeps saying. He's right of course but that would mean agreeing with him again.
My son, Joey phoned to tell me he had two tickets and would I like to go. Of course.
The crowds were overwhelming. I've never seen that many people at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Track. On Sunday they raced Porsches and then the big event was the NASCAR 200 mile road race. The two of us had a ball and we got into places where apparently we shouldn't have been but that's for the Chapter 2 posting.
Lap #1 of the Porsches.

This was the nicest Porsche of the field. Not a scratch or mark on it. When I mentioned this to Joey he said, "It should look that good. He's the slowest out there and no car is ever around him." Perhaps but still a nice car.

Here's one I found for Harvey. He'll look good sitting in this one.

A blast from the past. I think I was around when they actually used this truck for delivery.

Good series.
Obviously it's right up your alley. These cars 'fly' around the track & you have, in yellow, what the English would refer to as a Bird!
Nice photos and looks like you adapted to the new comfort zone very well .
Great job and keep up the great work .

Thanks for posting. I, too, like #6. They're all good shots. Were they loud?

Thank you Raymond. A 'Bird'? I knew I was photographing something familiar.

Thank you Marion. They were unbelievably loud. I was 6 feet from one of the stock cars when he turned on the ignition switch. I thought my ear drums were blown out.

My gear is pretty good and I think it did a fair job of identifying my subjects. I'm quite sure they're girls.
:-D
