Any views on the tampon 24-70? I have just got one and am a little concerned with the focusing. Has anyone else any concerns?

I assume you mean Tamron?
I would edit your spelling if I were you.
You have an hour after you posted.
Click on "Edit" under the text box.
I don't think Playtex or Kimberly Clark are going to be making lenses anytime soon.

Another tip- Your title should be more specific than just "Lens".
"Tamron 24-70" would be a better one, also editable, and would get the attention of people with experience with that lens.
It also makes it searchable.
(At least you didn't just use "Help" )

Does light even pass through one of those? My guess is that would explain the focus problem... ;)

i have used a tamron 24-70/2.8 USD DI SP on 3100, 7100 and 800.

have not experienced any focus related issues other than what you would expect in low level light at night.

Will admit it sounds a bit like a mack truck at a sunday school meeting but it works well.

I generally like the jokes that are posted on this site, as I have a multi-faceted sense of humour. Though this particular post was intended to be serious, the plethora of possibilities had be chuckling for a quite a few minutes. Some of the responses were classic.

Sincere apologies. I sent the text via my cell phone which corrected Tamron to.Tampon......and I did not edit the text. I am trying to get back to an edit menu so that I can correct it to Tamron but cannot locate the edit button. can anyone advise? Again my apologies.

Spell check makes everyone look bad from time to time. The Edit option expires after an hour so it is too late to change the spelling. Everyone knows is was a spell check or typo error. Don't worry about it. ;)

I'm pretty sure on that lens, you have to pull the sting until it comes into focus. Don't go to far, because it's hard to push the string.

Ok took the Tamron (alias Tampon) back and got the Canon. Compared the sharpness of the two at the shop. Incomparable.

Actually if you look up the 24-70mm, 2.8 made by Nikon, Canon and Tamron the Tamron preforms at the same level as the 2 biggies and out performs them in a number of areas!! Not saying you didn't get a lemon but Tamron does have a 6 year warranty on it's lens and if you have checked it out to the best of your abilities use the warranty and get it fixed or a new one..........
