That one has been around awhile, and had been refuted multiple times with some more substantial facts/references.

Between 1944 and 2012 — a span of 68 years — exactly four U.S. presidents have attended D-Day memorial ceremonies a total of exactly six times. Barack Obama was one of them.

I go with this Pope's statement. War is the scourge of mankind, in my opinion. The Bible has not rid of evil war, not even close; if anything it has promoted war among different believers.[/quote]

So you think Obama hates vets and didn't go to Normandy.... I doubt that but he may be thinking that Normandy was the last big win for the U S military.... embarrassing with an $800 billion budget every year!

Nothing is good about war, but everything is good about freedom. Thousands of Americans died so Europeans could be free. I'm glad to know that some of them still appreciate it.

It was also so the USA would still be free too. Remember, Germany wanted to dominate the world.

The word Obama and what I think about Obama was not mentioned in my post. Check it out above.

I repeat, War no more; no more war - Pope Paul VI to United Nations General Assembly, 1965. War is scourge of mankind. I shall leave your and others with your words and thoughts of our current president.

By "we" you certainly must mean to include Russia. Actually it was Russia who reached Berlin and Hitler's bunker.

"We" allowed Russia by agreement because mostly for the Battle of Stalingrad to enter Berlin from the East while the allies stood ready from the North south and west sides of Berlin.

It was part of an agreement entered into in Yalta between Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin. Actually, Roosevelt felt the Nazis would fight so hard for Berlin that the casualties would be tremendous. The Russians were willing to pay the price and Roosevelt was willing to let them.

The disgrace is people who post crap without taking even one minute to verify that there might be even a shred of truth to what they post. But those who hate America are so quick to denigrate the President that facts don't matter.

So yes, I will dispute this bullshit.

"The first president to travel to Normandy for D-Day was Ronald Reagan. Bill Clinton attended D-Day memorial ceremonies in Normandy on the 50th anniversary of the landings in 1994. George W. Bush did so on the 60th anniversary in 2004, and Barack Obama did likewise on the 65th anniversary of the landings in 2009".

"In fact, any public presidential activity paying tribute to fallen U.S. and Allied soldiers on the anniversary of D-Day has been an exception rather than the rule. Available White House presidential schedules for 6 June going back to the beginning of the Bush administration in 2001 list no public events connected to D-Day in 2012, 2011, 2010, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2003, or 2002."

Since the D-day invasion, exactly four presidents have attended D-Day memorial ceremonies a total of exactly six times. Barack Obama was one of them.

Your apology to us all for wasting our time, and to the President for the false accusation is accepted.
The disgrace is people who post crap without takin... (show quote)

Yes. Russia had more casualties than any other country, which led to its desire for the buffer states which were part of the "Soviet bloc" for so many years.

What you say is my understanding, too, but my statement stands. The cold war started.
