I'm sure if Jesus came back today he'd vote republican, carry a gun and help the rich while screwing the poor, the sick and the elderly.
Sure he would.

No - he threw out the merchants in the temple. So he would throw out all the merchants in congress today - that would be all Republicans and all Democrats! That's because they are the best money merchants that one can buy!

Sorry, a little quick on the trigger I guess. I was referring to the 'original' words of wisdom from Dennis. I am getting more than a little sick of people, usually on the right, using religion to support their mean spirited rhetoric and/or other political garbage.

I thought Dennis was just tossing out a little humor. I laughed. One person's trash is another's treasure.

Yeah Dennis. What were you thinking. I enjoyed the humor, but you sure sparked a debate. I will bet it wasn't even by chance you stumbled on that verse. In fact I think you were intentionally reading the Bible. In some places that would get you into trouble. Maybe here.

Nice Deer. Did you get that in southern California?

You're quite right.... the problem with christianity is that no one follows their own religion. Christianity is it's own get out of "Hell" free card. Anything will be forgiven except not believing.

I think if we Christians looked at our own sin instead of looking at the sin of others it would be helpful. I think if we Christians figured out what our God expects from us before we tell others what He expects from them it would be helpful. I am a Christian and I love the Lord Jesus with all my heart now if I could just live my life in such a way that folks could see that without me having to tell them I think it would be helpful.
I think if we Christians understood the difference... (show quote)

One of the scariest aspects of this far right turn of conservatives is the unspoken yet very obvious desire for Theocracy.

I have asked God to govern my life. Not the country's or anyone that doesn't willingly choose this path.

I really don't understand how a Christian following Jesus' path of loving God and love one another could be scary.

It does get scary when Christians veer off the path of Jesus into religion, dogma and doctrine.
