I just wish people would heed this advise. I drive a F250 fx4 and from my vantage It seems everybody is busy fiddling with their phones. They drive like drunken sailors on leave.
Long haul trucking for 10 years opened my eyes. Drivers reading, applying make-up, shaving, texting, talking on phone and "love making" (yep)!
Oh, and taking "selfies!"
gotta get those smartphone implants
I saw a sticker on a truck today which spoke truth. It read:
If I stop?
Can you?
Only problem is that the words were too small to read at a safe distance!
And so it goes....

As a Motorcyclist with over 700.000 miles on my bikes, I have seen probably about as much as you truckers did...It is utterly amazing what people will do when driving their cars....

Yup, I have to ride 60 miles North to get relief from distracted drivers just for a somewhat enjoyable/safe Motorcycle ride. Unfortunately there is no relief anywhere from those that never use or know how to use turn signals.
I once noticed a woman while she was driving, eating a bowl of cereal, and reading a book at the same time. I am glad I was behind her.
My daughter in law stated that she often reads while she drives. I asked her "What about that is smart?" she did not know the answer.
She also commented that she had never seen a deer at night. She is from the Appalachians and drove from the Tennessee valley home and back at night.
Can't fix stupid.

RUMOR has it that large SUVs no longer come with turn signals.
I have seen situations like this in California many times. A driver is hand holding his cell phone or texting or talking, and has an iPad velcro'd to his steering wheel hub. Just saw it again last week while on the 57.

Exactly....we just got our car back from repairs after my wife was rear ended in a construction zone and our daughters S.U.V is still in the shop from being hit by someone going the wrong way on a one way street (without insurance...had lapsed after missed payment). The repairs will be in the thousands so her insurance company will go after the other party. Bozo's abound on our roads today. Luckily my wife & daughter were not hurt. 8-)
