Do a search on this site of Nashville Tenn. ( Not TN or Tennessee) Slickrock made a similar request. You will find an extensive list of sites in Nashville. Have a great time.

The park in Nashville with the Parthenon is called Centennial Park.

There is also a huge wildlife area a little north and west of Nashville called Land Between the Lakes. Beautiful woods, Bison and Elk Prairie, an old time working homeplace. Google it and you can check it out online.

If you are in to night photography, Nashville offers some of the best. Take the walking bridge by the Schermerhorn Music Theatre downtown and set your camera up to shoot back across the Cumberland River looking at the skyline as the sun sets. The architecture and the lights as the golden hour hits are fantastic. Then take you camera to Broadway and shoot the night lights of all of the great music joints. You obviously will need a tripod, but you will get some great images! Have fun!

I am going to be in Nashville in a couple of week, any "can't miss areas, wildlife, landscapes, . I will have a car and don't mind travelling, I am thinking of going to Atlanta for 2 days as well. Thanks in advance.

If you are driving from Ontario, try to hit the Shenandoah National Park in VA and take Skyline Drive all the way down until it turns into the Blue Ridge Parkway. Skyline Drive is spectacular. Unfortunately, two winters ago, we took Skyline Drive, but Blue Ridge was closed due to snow. We were going to shoot over to Great Smoky Mountain national park from the end of the Blue Ridge, but it, too was closed due to snow. The Blue Ridge Parkway is listed as one of the most scenic roads in America.

Howdy Mike...you will need to learn how to interpret our Southern drawl "ya-all"....Just kidding. Listen, give me some time to put together a nice slideshow especially for you (I'll post on Flickr later today). Think I have many of the places previously mentioned photographed. Still working on a tour package for you (places to stay, things to do)...I'll PM you when I have it ready. Can you provide a time frame in which you think you'll be here. The reason I ask is because shows and venues are constantly changing. Fan Fest is coming in June and the city will be pretty much full and sold out.

Can't add much to what others have said. If you're interested in zoo photography, there is Grassmere Zoo not too far away from the downtown area.

There's alot of lakes and a couple of rivers around Nashville. Great scenes at Center Hill Lake (about 40 miles east of Nashville just off I-40) and Tim's Ford Lake (about 50 miles south of Nashville off of I-24 going toward Chattanooga/Atlanta).

If you go to Atlanta, you might want to take a look at Chattanooga's Lookout Mountain and Rock City (well marked off I-24 near Chattanooga). Nice mountain scenery (not a nice as Smokey Mt. Park mentioned above though). Chattanooga also has a nice aquarium.

About the bbq. Whitt's has good bbq but you might want to also try Peg Leg Porker's and/or Martin's BBQ. Both are near downtown Nashville.

Except that it's not in the direction of Nashville from Ontario. To Nashville pretty much a straight shot down I65. To Atlanta it's I24 to I75. Unfortunately GSMNP is way out of the way.

In Nashville, see the Parthenon, the zoo at Grassmere, Bell Meade Plantation, The Hermitage (Andrew Jackson's home), lots of nightlife.

If you take the I24 to I75 route I would recommend you stop in Chattanooga to visit the Aquarium. Probably the best in the country.

I really like aquariums. Was planning on going to the Georgia aquarium in Atlanta. Is the one in Chattanooga better than Atlanta.

I wanna thank you for asking about Nashville. I fly in from Las Vegas a couple times a year to see Mom and Sis, but I never really thought of Nashville as a good locale for photography until I read your post and the replys. All I shoot are people's faces for business and pleasure and Las Vegas has no visual appeal to me for photography, but Nashville sure does. So thank you for getting me to thinking about Nashville afresh. Have a good time.
