This picture was taken by my cousin and sent to me. She took the picture with a ps camera. It's not the best picture but I thought that it was interesting so i decided to put on UHH.

You might want to refresh your understanding of the rules for this forum. The very first sentence of the rules for posting in this section is as follows:
"This section is for posting pictures you took."

Excuse me holyier than thou. In the short time that I have been on UHH I have seen pictures posted that were taken by children relatives and friends and even some that were taken of Marilyn Monroe and other famous people that were edited and put here by other UHH members so I assumed that it was acceptale. No comments were posted for the other people. I have also seen pictures that were taken by other photographers and had given their permission for them to post. That's the problem some don't follow the rules and if they are long time regulars it's acceptable but new members are held to a different standard. Everyone needs to be held to the same standard.
It does say your shots, but I think that as long as the person has permission to post that it is ok. I think that posting someone else's picture with out permission is not acceptable and illegal. I would hope that if a person under 18 wanted some feedback on a picture and mom or dad posted it that that should be more than ok. We get to benefit from a younger persons impression of the world and they get to benefit from our old age wisdom. :)
Call me out if I am off base on this.
Regardless of who took the picture, I think the facts are amazing. Thanks for sharing!

show quote)
"Holier Than Thou" - Exhibiting an attitude of superior virtue; self-righteously pious.
My post contains no such attitude or nature. I merely made a simple statement of fact on the rules, in an effort to help and be of assistance to you. I didn't call you any names, nor did I say anything at all that could be construed as being snide. Yet in your mind, I am characterized as being Holyier [sic] Than Thou.
You posted the subject image in "The Photo Gallery". An area reserved for posting of images that you took, in accordance with the posted rules for this area. If you go to the other areas; e.g., "Main Photography Discussion", etc. you will see that the rules for these other areas do NOT have the restriction that posted images must be taken by you. You can post images taken by others, as long as you have their permission and posting the image does not violate any legal considerations.
You became very defensive and started pointing fingers to other images posted by people who didn't take them; however, I suspect you saw these other images in one of the other areas OTHER than "The Photo Gallery". . .where only images taken by the person posting are allowed, by the expressly stated rules.
Others have made the same mistake. They have been so informed. No one is picking on you. Only trying to inform and to help.
Additionally, due to a rash of recent "back and forth" contentious and rude posts between a number of unnamed individuals, doing nothing but bringing harm to the central purpose of this site (to help and assist). . .there is no need to respond to this post, as I certainly do not intend to turn this simple sharing of helpful information into a debate.
I'm learning as well. I hope that I do not offend someone with my posts. I want to learn from you all that takes great pictures, of what not to do , when to do it right and cropping. Etc. I want to get better because I have 4 beautiful grand babies that I want to get perfect shots for. :-) Thanks to you all for all the lessons.
Let's all play nice. That being said the photo is nice and crisp however the top of the sign is cut off. I am guessing that the photo was to show off the rings of the tree at the top and I don't think it did that. The sign at the bottom was very hard to read. I see the sun coming from behind the subject and I think it might have been a much better photo taken when the sun was toward the front or not as bright.

I appreciate your comments but as I said my cousin took the picture with a PS and I put it on here as I thought that it was interesting. I have seen the same thing many times but certain people took exception of it so it won't happen again.

Arguments aside,
Please explain why this is an interesting snapshot to you.
To me, it's just another tourist shot of a signpost.
