really like that 3rd one!
Outstanding shots Dale, I'm enivous of how well you captured the actions of the aircraft and the fog/condensation.
#3 is publication worthy, Bravo. Bv

It has to do with the air moving over the airfoil being compressed and condensing. Popular thought is you see that as the aircraft goes supersonic but this happens at speeds well below the speed of sound. On a wet day you can see this from the wing of an airliner on takeoff or landing. I've also seen it from the propellor tips at low speed, high RPM.
However in that last photo the cone of fog is the shockwave forming over the aircraft at speed.

I've never seen it in person.
Thank you!

On second thought, I think it's actually a reduction in pressure that causes the condensation.
all are great but I love the 3rd shot! :D
Love pic #1......It looks like like you were (above it??)

No, standing at show center (was finally able to elbow my way to the front for once  ).
He's just started his turn away from the crowd, this was probably the max gee 360 degree turn they do to demonstrate minimal turning radius.
If you ever get a chance to see the F-22 demo do it. It is a very impressive airplane.
#3 is awsum. Times have changed since the F85s and F100s.
Nice pics...they are definitely unusual shots of a very over-shot subject.
They really stand out from the rest...
