Thanks Allen. The longest lens I have ever used is a 300mm - can't imagine how much practice is needed for anything longer, especially a 500. Will we see a new avatar? Not that there's anything lacking in your current one.

Wasn't planning on changing avatars. (Though I made a GBH one a long time ago for another forum...)

The 500 takes lots of practice if you're going to try to hand hold it; not so much on a tripod.

yes, they are. i just took a look at the plumage one more time. did you notice the twist in its neck in #5? when they fly they coil it up quite nice but this is the first time I've seen it on the ground showing off that talent. really nice set!

Gary: I did notice that. You're right, they usually use that position in flight; not very often on the ground.
