I will get an address in the area and get back to you it may not be till Saturday Once you are at the west end overlook you can ask any one for directions to the other places I mentioned. You will only be ten min. away. Will get back to you. Saying hello from Pittsburgh.
I Like it. Only suggestion. Try to avoid splitting your horizon line. Divide your image into 3rd's. More sky or more reflection.

Ditto Grandview Ave and West End Overlook. Recommend you take I 70 to Washington, PA and then I 79 north. From I 79 north take I 279 into the city. I 279 tunnels under Mt. Washington giving you a spectacular view of the city as you exit the tunnel. Unfortunately, you can't safely stop there. Rather than driving to Grandview, you may want to take the Monongahela Inclined Plane from Station Square. Your GPS should help you find that location. Pittsburgh is not an easy city to get around in because there is virtually no such thing as a street that runs in a straight line. I grew up near there and worked in the city. I can find my way around but I wouldn't attempt to give anyone verbal directions.
Get off turnpike, you'll get it in New Stanton, and take it West to the Monroeville exit. I believe it's #56.. Go west towards Pittsburgh, go thru squill Hill tunnels and continue on parkway to Blvd of Allies exit. 4th exit after tunnels.. Stay in left lane to Liberty Bridge.. Get in right lane and right before the Liberty Tunnel on the Right is McArdle road.. Follow it up and you're there.. Look on right and see whole city.. A really really beautiful view
Ok so I see you are getting different ways into town including mine. So here is an idea for you, I'll rent you my skydiving rig and you can drop in shooting at the same time.

OK photographer buddies..I've really gotten in to doing cityscapes and loving it. I've done Cincinnati now I'm going to be in Pittsburgh in a couple of weeks I hope and want to get the cityscape there. I've done some research and from what I can tell Mt Washington is the place to be but i cant't find any directions to help me get there coming from I-70 east...anybody wanna help me out? An address would be great. Mt Washington just aint doing the trick in the gps. Here is the Cincinnati shot..
Hello again just wanted to say a GPS will get the job done very difficult to give directions no matter how you enter the burgh. Saying hello from Pittsburgh P.S will get back to you.

Hello Pikeman welcome to the uhh forum. The directions you gave are excellent to Mt. Washington I believe they want to go to the west end over look? Saying hello from Pittsburgh north side
My daughter lives in Brookline and I had to go that way today. My sister-n-law has a condo 3 down from the LeMont, and I had a business where the Civic Arena was. I know the area quite well..
Thanks guys I appreciate all your input...This is exactly why i love this forum :)

I do not care at all for Cinci, but your night shot of it is beautiful.

What's your problem with it?
Not sure..i just started doing cityscapes and i had only done the the one of Cinci so far before this one..Maybe i'm just comparing it too much to that one of course I know, different city, different lighting but i'm my own worst critic lol

Well it looks like you found the West End overlook. I think your photo looks pretty good, I am still trying to get my perfect sunset shot, I want dramatic clouds over the city, the fountain going, and the Gateway Clipper boat rounding the point all at the same time. May have to chase that shot all summer.
