RGS Motor No. 7 (Galloping Goose No. 7). The Colorado Railroad Museum has three geese.

I cannot find the thread someone else started that I referred to in my previous post be another image I submitted to that thread was of a "Goose" sitting between two buildings on the main street of Telluride which has not been moved as I understand it. I heard that all of the "geese" have been accounted for now, I think, and information was also in that thread I cannot find which is going to "bug" me and force me to go through all my posts to find it - 5800+ stinkin' posts. That's what I get for posting too many times in other's threads - can't find 'em. My little pappy called that talking too much and not being able to remember what you've said or when but, as you can see, I'm still at it. LOL. Your shots are all very very nice. I've been to the museum in Denver/Golden a couple of times and it's really a neat place.

Oh, sorry. I probably have one or two very similar shots of the Silverton Train on the High Line as well.

All three geese at the CRRM.

A neat shot. In that link I offered earlier, there was a link to a story about the "geese" and where they all are now if I recall. Here is a link to some shots I posted in Jan last year with several pics taken on the ride to Silverton and then on the Royal Gorge ride if anyone is interested. One of the shot I got like the one that Stinson posted is there but it is a tighter crop. I still haven't found the other thread where I posted a wider crop that better resembles Stinson's and at this point I don't think it's worth any more of my time trying to find it. All your shots are very nice and a pleasure to look at.

Nice shot of the goose comin' round the bend. I forgot to include the link. The thread was started by Silverfox1953 who had some really nice shots from the museum and I add some shots in later.

NO ^$%@#^& Diesel will EVER match a STEAM LOCOMOTIVE as far as APPEARANCE, whether moving, or simply sitting still. I prefer one that's COAL FIRED as the SMELL also lends another dimension to the experience, lastly the SOUND of a STEAM LOCOMOTIVE IN OPERATION no matter if its a HIGH-SPEED PASSENGER LOCOMOTIVE, or a FREIGHT LOCOMOTIVE pulling a long string of loaded Freight Cars., and then bringing up the rear on my Train would be a Caboose with Cupola.

Then you'd really love that Durango to Silverton ride, about 4 hours uphill with the coal burner chuggin' its butt off and tossin' particles up into the air about 50 feet that come down all over the passengers in the open cars - that inescapable smell of coal burning is a delight. You come off that ride with coal dust on your face and in your hair like you've freshly stepped out of a W. Va. coal mine. Don't wear white! :D

Back in the late 50's and early '60's I rode the Baggage Cars that had the Doors were wide open.Of course there were Boards across the opening(s) to prevent one from falling out. No sir, no Coach Seat for me. On one such trip we traveled from Chicago to Willard, OH and back. I NEEDED A SHOWER before ever thinking about going to Bed, but I enjoyed every minute of it!

Baldwin built this three-foot gauge, D&RGW, C-19 class consolidation in 1881. For years the C-19s were the big engines on the railroad. Seen at the Colorado Railroad Museum: http://RailroadGloryDays.com/CRRM/index2.html

The water tower, steam and reflections in windows does it for me.

The Colorado Railroad Museum isn't all about the D&RGW. http://RailroadGloryDays.com/CRRM/index2.html
