For example, the US has according to your wiki, over 4000 combate aircraft in comparison to the next on the list which is Russia with only 1510.

I suppose if we still fought wars hand to hand with swords and spears who has the most canon fodder would matter....but this is the 21st century.

We have 10 aircraft carriers. The good kind. Everyone else has 10. Combined. And they are mostly small ships that can launch helicopters.

There are 8,400 attack helicopters in the world. The U.S. has 6,400 of them.

So, as I said before a good place to start cutting spending would be the military budget.

Ok, I was working from memory, making a point that the US spends too much on defense, and if budget cuts need to be made, that is where we need to start.

If you want to spit hairs, I should have said "nearly as large as the rest of the worlds combined". If you want to start counting ordinance and resources, Im guessing it would still be as large or larger than the rest.

It doesnt change the point, or the fact that we have more than we need already, and if the funds are to be spent, could be put to better use elsewhere...or just not spent at all.
