Well, at my house they would find that my dogs return fire.

There is (or was) a dog repellant spray. I had one for several years, but tossed it some time after expiration. For some reason, most big box sporting goods stores (and catalogs) only carry personal protection sprays against humans and bears. Dog repellant spray is difficult to find these days.

And when it comes to bears, I'll take my chances with a .44 Mag

I don't know about aerosol sprays for dogs, but a squirt bottle full of household ammonia sure does the trick! And I have a 100% sure fire "defense" against grizzly and polar bears.......I keep my butt in Indiana.......

So does a big enough rock, I know of one Pit Bull that knows that now. And at least one Bear. :) My Grand-Son delivered that revelation to one, in Tennessee a year or so ago.

Right on household ammonia. I forgot to mention it. My wife carried a spray bottle during a daily walk for a couple of years, but it was a bit too big for comfortable carry. Funny, while carrying it there were no dog threats 8-)

I had a early morning paper route when I was 12. There was a German Shepard on my route that kept me at bay sometimes for a half hour, snarling, charging, etc. One day I took a squirt bottle full of ammonia and let him have a direct shot to his snout. That dog went wild, running around in circles and howling. From then on when he saw me coming he went to the back of the house and stayed there until I was nearly out of sight.

I am a dog lover in a big way but sometimes when the owners are irresponsible the pets pay for it far more than the owners. Sad but true.

Another aerosol that works wonders on....."two legged thugs" in big cities; Wasp & Hornet spray! (It shoots a solid stream almost 20 feet; ) I used to carry a can or two when I went to downtown Chicago; one squirt to the face and a "thug" will forget all about trying to steal your camera bag!
Now I use "tactical pepper spray" from pistol manufacturer, Kimber; (it puts them completely "in-op" for several hours! )

The wasp & hornet spray is relatively "dirt cheap" and can be found in any Home Depot or Lowe's store; (and if you don't use it on "perps", you can always use it up on wasps and hornets around your house. ) A really good quality "hand-pump" squirt bottle filled with household ammonia is a must if you ride a bike very much; one shot in a mean dogs face, and he'll run the other way the next time he sees you coming!

Why are you so unpleasant toward anyone who has any outer view than your own.
My view it must be either sexual frustration or fear of your sexuality.

Pepper spray usually has little to no effect on dogs.

Not according to my daughter, who managed to shoot a squirt of bear spray across the living room... The dog took off to the back of the house, then when my daughter got her outside, she went to the farthest corner of the yard and stayed there for quite awhile.

At the time, I was roughing it, having breakfast with a co-worker in Honolulu. I knew I was in trouble when I answered my phone and heard my wife say, very calmly and quietly, "what was a can of bear spray doing on the dresser?" Discretion being the better part of valor, I kept the laugh out of my voice, sounded appropriately chastised, and resisted the urge to ask why anyone was playing with the bear spray in the first place. The guy I was having breakfast with STILL teases me about that... :D

To start with, Annie, your question is invalid; I'm never "unpleasant" to "nice people", and I'm definitely not "unpleasant" to "everyone" who disagrees with me; as far as this particular thread is concerned, I'm assuming that you are referring to my reply to "Richard-Sports"? Assuming I'm correct, I'm further assuming that YOU don't know much about "Richard-Sports"; allow me to "educate" you just a bit; Richard is NOT "nice"! (He's exactly the opposite of "nice" ) he's also a card-carrying, low-information, Obozo loving, "PITA", liberal imbecile. In addition to that, Richard is NEVER "nice" to ANYONE who ever disagrees with HIM! With me, you can always assume that you'll "get" exactly what you attempt to "give"!

I have heard precious few (if any ) liberals, democRATS, "left-wingers", (or whatever you prefer to call them ), ever "being nice" to any one who disagrees with them; and inasmuch as it was YOU who asked ME the question, I'm further assuming that YOU must be a "liberal"?

#2. Quote; "My view it must be either sexual frustration or fear of your sexuality.

It's MY "view" that any "female" on a forum who starts talking about her sexual "views" to a male who is a complete stranger to her, is "probably" NOT a "lady". In addition to that, (and still being on my 2nd "honeymoon" after having been very happily married now for almost 18 months, ), unlike most libs, I don't consider discussing sexual matters on a forum, an appropriate topic of discussion.

(I do hope that helps? )

Your very life probably hinged on your response to her question   As for the dogs and pepper spray. I carried it while I was in uniform as a police officer and I can recall two instances that I sprayed dogs directly in the eyes when they came at me and in both cases the dogs shook it off as if I had only sprayed them with a little water. It certainly did not create the pain it usually does in humans.

I wasn't aware that one of the standard questions in Hospitals is to ask your political leanings
Officers are, let me repeat that, ARE well trained to state standards with firearms. Regardless of training there are always going to be some screwups. they usually get weeded out
Officers are NOT more "gun free" if anything they are severely hobbled, and rightfully so, use of deadly force for: if your life is in danger or someone else s. Will the ignorance never cease?????
