In the UK Fotospeed makes both refillable cartridges and continuous flow ink systems. Both work well. They also sell the ink which is also good. It works out a lot cheaper than manufacturers cartridges.
Whatever you do you should stick with the same brand to get consistent results unless you want to reprofile every time you switch inks.

I've got a r3000 and print a lot . I was under the the impression that it it was an ink hog , but I have been surprised at how good it has been. I buy my ink from epson when it's on sale. I spent a lot on the printer and it took awhile to get it calibrated good. I don't want to spend my time recalibrating, cleaning nozzles ,sending it in for repairs(it's not under warranty) anyway I really like my prints. I know it's expensive, but I also knew it would be cheaper to have Staples or whoever do my printing, but I like to do things myself if I can. I'm not against saving money, but the horror stories I ve heard out way the savings. Just my opinion

I have used "www.Myinks.com" for my Epson and my Canon printers. No Problems for a couple of years. 1/3 the price.
Give it a try. Good luck.

Besides the R3000, I have an old R380. I tried using the after market ink in that printer and the printer did not recognize the cartridge. I knew when I bought the R3000 that the ink cost more but the cartridges really do last a long time. The nearest place for me to get ink for the R3000 in a 1 1/2 hour drive. I'm happy with the larger cartridge. The ink in the R380 (which is relatively inexpensive) ends up being replaced at least 3x faster than the R3000.

I also own a R3000. I have gone through 4 sets of cartidges now. The last three were from SwiftInk.com. My next order will be with them as well. Great Ink, great quality and fast service. Fully compatible.

Because of the expense of ink, I bring my photos to Sam's Club. I have no complaints as to their print quality and the prices a lot cheaper than constantly buying new ink cartridges.

I know the OP did not ask about this, but I decided to answer this way anyway!

If you want to get rid of your printer use third party ink. I learned the hard way.

Some things I do buy 3rd party but ink is not one of them. I have been there and done that and now will only buy name brand.

Many years ago, when printers were much more rudimentary, I gave refilling cartridges a try. Didn't care for the results, or for the mess, but then printers, and especially print heads are much better now. Then, it was all too easy to spill ink and that stuf is a flat-out bitch to clean up.

Since my purchase of several Datacolor Spyder products, I've had access to some webinars about how to calibrate systems so as to get prints that match the screen w/o having to make thre or four or more tries with adjustments.

In every one of these webinars, the host strongly recommended using OEM ink and paper. However, they do speak highly of Red River products and at least one other fine art paper vendor.

Can't say one way or the other as I do not use refills or cheap cartridges, but really, the only way to find out for certain is to experiment and see whatcha get.
