Comments, please, on the shots I took with my new camera. These are all handheld.
Wow! These are excellent shots, Linda! Such clarity!
Thanks - the camera is quite amazing. I have only had basic point and shoot Canon Elphs prior to this camera. We are going to Alaska this summer so I needed a long zoom camera.

there very , well soft focus . we used to use a soft focus len's to get that look
kind of dreamy look to wedding pic, you could get soft focus in a few stages
less and more . these are pleasant but they don't do any thing , kind of lifeless , to me there dull you need more snap . crackle and pop , I don't know what you can do but you will have tons of suggestions . I only know if I like it or if I don't , so don't pay any attention to me . but these are pictures
they wouldent win first second or third . there just like my pictures .but I couldent care less . if I could ever get a picture on this site , I don't want to hear any thing about how nice , wonderfull , beautiful , that makes me cringe
I would perfer all negative over that slosh gob . because I know what they should be rated at . it's strange I can get them on the weekly photo contest
but can't get then in here , and I have one in the contest this week a snow
owl , and that won't even get a whole point other than my own vote , it's a crappy shot you can't even tell if it has eyes . any way I'm of track .
Thanks so much for that link. I have not tried messing with any of the functions of the camera yet - just shot on automatic with a hood and no filters. I really want to learn what this camera can do before we go to Alaska in late July.
Linda
I am a Nikon guy but I have a SX 30is and it just amazes me. So easy and it gets the shot. I know how happy you are with yours
What the heck pictures are you talking about? It doesn't appear that the context of you remarks go along with these beautiful photos. I think there should be an apology in there somewhere.

I have trouble with camera shake too. Using a monopod helps. Also, if you are zoomed out, use the view finder. Holding the camera up to my eye helps me reduce camera shake. Try googling Lillian Stokes, her web site has good information about the sx50. You can request a guide to the sx which was a big help. Good luck!
